PayIQ ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name and email address when you register or sign in with Apple or Google.
- Profile information: NHS employment details you enter (band, trust, employment type, student loan plan) to calculate your pay.
- Shift data: shift records you add within the app.
- Usage data: anonymous analytics about how you use the app (screen views, feature usage) via Firebase Analytics.
- Device information: device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting and support.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate and display your NHS pay estimates.
- To store your shifts and profile securely in the cloud (Firebase Firestore).
- To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns.
- To show relevant advertisements via Google AdMob (with your consent where required).
3. Advertising
PayIQ uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and other data to show personalised ads. You will be asked for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app settings.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, hosted in the European Union. We use industry-standard security measures. Your shift and profile data is only accessible by you — other users cannot see your data.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase – for authentication, database, and analytics.
- Google AdMob – for advertising (with your consent).
6. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
As a UK resident you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for personalised advertising at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).

7. Children
PayIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
